“I wanted to let you know how pleasantly surprised I was when I got a call…letting me know that an employee had found $45.00 in one of my pants pockets that I had sent for dry-cleaning. It is nice to know that you have such honest employees on your team! Please take the opportunity to pass this thank you along to your staff. Thank you once again!”

-Patrick, Sherwood

“I just wanted to tell you how great the employees are that work at the 1440 S Oneida St location. Every time I go in there, they are super friendly and I have a very positive experience when dropping off/picking up! I want them to be recognized! I usually go in on Saturdays and whoever is working is simply delightful!”

“I’d like to make sure the owners/managers know of a particular employee who made a huge positive difference for me. Art, the plant supervisor, went clear out of his way to remove a very bad ink stain from a silk duvet cover shipment I bought in India – it had been in hot transit vehicles and sitting in a box for weeks on end before I even got to it. The silk cover was a wedding gift, intricately stitched, and I was very sad and disappointed that the seller in India shipped a flawed product. But – I was lucky to come to Gunderson and find Art. He worked a miracle, and was able to get the entire ink stain out, and it looked fantastic, no residue or anything. The recipient of the gift couldn’t even tell there was ever a stain. One big reason he deserves my praises is that I had less than 24 hours until I had to leave Appleton to bring the gift to the bride and groom. He prioritized my order and even had me come in to see the progress to make sure I was ok with what he was doing. He was very sensitive to the issue at hand. I’ve never in my life dealt with such an amazing dry cleaner…”

“When I picked up my last order there was a dime taped to the receipt that they had found in a pocket. I am very impressed with the professionalism of Gunderson Cleaners and its employees.”

“My wife and I have been clients of yours since moving to the Appleton area approximately 18 years ago. We have had pick-up and delivery service at our home for the past several years. During that time, we have had the pleasure of working with several of your employees. I don’t know all of their names, and I know one lady retired a while back, but in almost every case they have been very pleasant and responsive (even bringing treats for our two Labradors that anxiously run outside and wait at the fence when they hear them  open the garage door on Tuesday and Friday mornings).

I probably should have taken the time to share this feedback with you in the past, since as someone who runs several businesses myself I know how important it is to express appreciation to your team and reinforce things when they do a good job. In any case, I am writing now to recognize your team for the years of great service and also to let you know about a recent situation that I think you should be aware of.

Yesterday, I left a large sum of cash (over $1000.00) in a money clip in one of the pockets of a suit that I put in the pick-up bag. I did not realize what I had done until towards the end of the day, and I called my wife at home and asked her to try to find it.  She laughed, scolded me for carrying so much cash, and informed me that she had already had it returned to her by a member of your staff named Tina. Apparently Tina had found the money clip when she sorting the clothes and promptly notified my wife of her discovery. It was returned the same day, and by the time I got home from work that evening it was waiting for me, all accounted for just as I had left in my pocket.

The honesty and integrity  demonstrated by Tina is noteworthy and greatly appreciated. It is really nice to see that such important values and character attributes are still exhibited. I am fortunate and have had some success in life and business, so losing the money would not have a big deal to me. In fact, my wife probably would have liked to see me lose the money and “learn a lesson” with this. Actually I did learn (or re-learn) one; good people will still do the right the thing. I guess I always knew that, but this served as a great reminder.

I will be sending a thank-you card and small token of my sincere appreciation for Tina to your office shortly. Since I do not know Tina’s last name, I will put the card inside an envelope that is addressed to Mr. Greg Gunderson as General Manager. Please pass it on to Tina for me, and thank your team for all that have done for us over these many years.”
